Registering as a business

Registering as a business on eBay is the right option for you if you:

  • Sell items that you've bought to resell.
  • Sell items that you've produced yourself to sell.
  • Sell a large amount of goods on a regular basis.
  • Sell new items that you've bought but not used personally.
  • Sell items as a Trading Assistant.
  • Buy items for your business.

If you're in any doubt, please contact your legal advisor to find out whether you're operating as a business.

Advantages of a business account

  • You can trade under your existing company name. Your company name will be displayed in all communication with the buyer, such as invoices and emails.
  • You can display your business contact details, and terms and conditions in all of their listings.

Change your seller account type

If you change from a private seller account to a business account you won't be able to revert back to a private seller account.
