Private seller fees

You pay fees based on the items you sell and how you choose to set up your listings. Our fees calculator can help you figure out about how much you'll pay to list and sell an item.

All displayed fees include applicable VAT. Fees are a bit different for Motors and Classified Ads.

Insertion fees and optional listing upgrades

Every month, you can create 20 listings for FREE.

  • After that, they're £0.35 each.
  • You can list in either auction or Buy it now formats.
  • This doesn't include listings in the Motors category or Classified Ads.
  • You might be subject to some selling limits if you're a new seller or you've fallen below standard.

Optional listing upgrades

Final value fees

Your final value fee is 10% of your total transaction cost (including postage)

  • You only pay a final value fee if your item sells.
  • You'll never pay more than £250 as a final value fee.
  • If your buyer pays with PayPal, you'll have additional PayPal fees.

Final value fees are different for Motors. There are no final value fees for Property or Classified Ads.

International selling fees

Offering international postage for your UK listings

You pay UK insertion and final value fees.

Listing directly on our international sites

If your item sells, you'll pay the insertion and final value fees that apply to the site where you're listing. Check with your bank or payment service to find out if they charge an extra fee for accepting international payments.

Discounts when you sell for charity

By listing with eBay for Charity, you can donate up to 100% of your item's final sale price to a registered charity. We'll credit a percentage of your selling fees (excluding fees for optional listing upgrades) back to you, depending on your donation amount.

Fees for ending an auction early

If you end an auction early and buyers have already placed bids, you may be charged a fee. This fee is the same as a final value fee, based on the item price when you ended the auction. You won't pay a fee if you cancel your auction within the first 24 hours of listing your item, or if we have to end your auction.
