You can request a final value fee credit if your buyer doesn't pay for an item or you and your buyer agree to cancel the transaction. If you qualify it will be credited to your seller account 7-10 days after you close the case. The credit will be applied to future listing fees or if you prefer, you can request a refund

Your buyer doesn't pay for the item

Go to the Resolution Centre and under I sold an item, select I haven't received payment yet.

You can do this 4-32 days after the listing ends, or immediately if the buyer is no longer registered with eBay.

The buyer has 4 days to respond. If the buyer doesn't pay or reach an agreement with you within 4 days, you can close the case and record an unpaid item on the buyer's record.

You must close the case within 36 days of opening it to ensure you receive your final value fee credit.

You and your buyer agreed to cancel a transaction

Go to the Resolution Centre and under I sold an item select I want to cancel a transaction.

You can do this up to 30 days after the actual (or latest estimated) delivery date.

The buyer has 7 days to respond. If you haven't heard from the buyer after 7 days, you can close the case and receive your final value fee credit.

You must close the case within 60 days of opening it to ensure you receive your final value fee credit.

Your buyer opened a case in the Resolution Centre, and you refunded the buyer

Go to the Resolution Centre to manage returns or resolve problems with a transaction.

Issue a full refund

Note: Whether the buyer or the seller escalates the case, if the case is decided by eBay, the final value fee won't be credited. Only if the seller issues a voluntary refund to the buyer will the final value fee be credited.

Only cases opened in the eBay Resolution Centre are eligible for a credit. You won't receive a credit for cases opened on PayPal.

You have 10 days to reply to a case and 3 days to refund the buyer after you receive the returned item.

If you don't resolve the problem and issue a refund, eBay automatically closes the case and you are not credited the final value fee.

Once your case is closed by you or eBay, you can't reopen the case.

If you haven't received your credit, check the reason that you closed your unpaid item case as not all reasons result in a credit.
